LCL brings years of experience and deep expertise in data centers. From our sites in Diegem, Aalst, Antwerp, Huizingen and Gembloux, we work with clients across a wide range of industries to deliver high-quality, reliable and future-ready solutions.
In recent years, we have expanded our offering to include connectivity services and cloud solutions. We combine technical expertise with a strong commitment to collaboration, co-creation and responsible business practices. Together, we are helping build a more sustainable digital future.
At LCL, we listen to our customers and invest in lasting relationships. We bring that same long-term outlook to the way we work, with a strong focus on quality, safety, health and the environment.
What will you do?
As LCL’s Prevention Advisor & Environmental Coordinator, you will be a key expert and point of contact for safety, wellbeing and environmental matters. You will combine your statutory responsibilities with a hands-on approach across our sites and projects.
In practice:
- You advise management, employees, Operations and Project teams on safety, wellbeing and environmental matters. You turn legal requirements into practical solutions and stay closely connected to what happens on site.
- You conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections, investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, and ensure improvement actions are followed through consistently.
- You oversee contractor and construction-site safety through safety walks and site visits, ensuring that safety requirements and permits to work are respected.
- You review relevant risk and safety documentation and support assessments of SIMOPS risks and risks arising from simultaneous or changing activities.
- You monitor environmental legislation, permits and permit conditions, and provide appropriate environmental advice.
- You help manage environmental risks involving waste, water, soil, emissions and hazardous substances, among others, and coordinate related inspections and reporting.
- For projects and operational changes, you ensure that risks and legal requirements are addressed early and properly handed over to the operational teams.
- You actively contribute to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, audits, KPI monitoring and continuous improvement.
You work closely with Operations, Projects, HR and external partners. Your role is advisory and supportive; responsibility for operational implementation remains with the relevant line and project teams. You report to the SHEQ Manager, who also heads the internal service for prevention and protection at work. You carry out your statutory duties as Prevention Advisor and Environmental Coordinator with the independence required by applicable law.
Does this sound like you?
You bring solid technical expertise, but you are equally at home putting it into practice. You are visible on site, listen carefully, offer advice and constructively challenge existing ways of working. You know how to bring people on board without compromising on safety, the environment or legal requirements.
- You are qualified as a Level 1 or Level 2 Prevention Advisor AND as a Level A or Level B Environmental Coordinator.
- You have a strong understanding of Belgian workplace wellbeing legislation, Flemish environmental regulations and permit requirements. You are willing to develop your knowledge of relevant Walloon regulations too.
- You have relevant experience in an industrial, technical or infrastructure environment, including contractor and workplace safety.
- You can independently carry out thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Experience with critical infrastructure, construction or technical installations is a major asset.
- You are familiar with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Experience with audits, Management of Change, SIMOPS and environmental permits is a plus.
- You are pragmatic and solutions-focused, take ownership and consistently follow through on actions.
- You communicate fluently in Dutch and English and have a good professional command of French.
- You are willing to travel regularly between our sites and other LCL locations in Belgium, including our wind turbine sites, for site visits, inspections, projects and incident follow-up.
